In alignment with the directives issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), the institution has undertaken a series of mandatory actions to strengthen mental-health support systems on campus. These measures aim to promote the Tele-MANAS services, enhance accessibility to psychological assistance and create a supportive environment for student well-being.
The official Tele-MANAS helpline numbers –14416 and 1800-891-4476 have been prominently displayed across multiple institutional platforms.
Dissemination areas include:
- Institutional website
- Student handbooks and academic calendars
- Social media channels of the institution
- Digital signages and electronic notice boards
- Physical notice boards in departments
- Hostels and residential blocks
- Counselling and wellness centres
This ensures that students and staff have immediate access to professional mental-health support when needed.
The institution has encouraged faculty mentors, student coordinators and club representatives to act as Peer Champions. Their responsibilities include:
- Providing initial support to students facing emotional challenges
- Guiding peers to appropriate Tele-MANAS services
These initiatives demonstrate the institution’s commitment to student mental well-being, proactive support mechanisms and compliance with national guidelines.
