INDEPENDENCE DAY Celebration

Malla Reddy Technical Campus celebrated the 78th Independence Day on 15th August 2025 at 08:30 A.M. with great fervor and enthusiasm, paying homage to the freedom fighters and reflecting on the contributions made by those who fought for the independence of India. The ceremony, held on the university campus was attended by esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, staff, and students.

The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to all the attendees. The Honourable Chairman Sri Ch. Malla Reddy Garu, Founder Chairman, MRGI, MLA, Former Minister, Govt. of Telangana invited as Chief Guest. The Honourable Chancellor of the University, Dr. K.N. Sudha Ramana, MD, DM (Gastro) delivered the Inaugural Address. In her address she motivated all students and asked them to pursue their dreams.  Dr. Balakrishna P. Shetty MBBS, MD (USA), Vice Chancellor addressed the gathering. It was then taken over by Dr. Kanaga Durga Returi, Dean, Malla Reddy Technical Campus (Deemed to be University). Heads, Faculty members, officials, academic and administrative staff, support staff, workers, children, and campus dwellers were present to mark the occasion.

The gathering stood in unison to honor the historic significance of August 15th, 1947, when India achieved its independence from British colonial rule. It was on this day that the first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, hoisted the tricolor flag atop the Red Fort in Delhi, symbolizing India’s freedom. The speech emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices of the leaders and warriors who fought for the nation’s independence.

The distinguished speaker highlighted the need to recognize not only the renowned leaders but also the ordinary citizens who participated in the freedom struggle at the grassroots level. The efforts made by every individual involved in the struggle were acknowledged, emphasizing that they are all heroes and heroines deserving of remembrance and celebration.

A march organized by NCC, where students paraded across the campus, holding flags and chanting patriotic slogans. The march served as a symbol of unity and dedication to the nation. The efforts of the organizers and participants were instrumental in making this celebration a true tribute to the nation’s independence. About 150 participants attended the event.

The programme end up with national anthem and followed by sweet distribution.
